One of two men charged in connection with the armed robbery of a Sarnia bank last summer will be sentenced next month.
Hassan Ali recently pled guilty to charges connected with the robbery at Superior Court of Justice in Milton -- the case was transferred from Sarnia to Milton sometime last fall.
Ali, a 21-year-old from the Mississauga/Etobicoke area, is scheduled to be sentenced March 9.
Legal representation for the co-accused in the case, 23-year-old Mushin Aden from the same area, was in Sarnia court this week for a focus hearing. Following a discussion between the Crown and Aden's defence lawyer, Ken Marley of Windsor, the matter was adjourned to May 12 for the beginning of a three-day preliminary hearing.
The two men were charged with robbery using a firearm, disguise with intent, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The July 28, 2019 robbery of the TD Canada Trust on London Road resulted in suspects being chased to London where two people were critically injured when a police vehicle collided with a taxi.
