One of two men charged in connection with the armed robbery of a Sarnia bank last month has been remanded in custody for another week.
Hassan Ali, 21, made a brief video appearance in Sarnia court Wednesday morning.
His case was put over to September 4 to allow for Ali's counsel to receive disclosure. He has not yet had a bail hearing.
Two masked men, armed with what turned out to be replica handguns, robbed the TD bank on London Road just before 4 p.m. July 28 and fled in a vehicle.
Ali, and 23-year-old Mushin Aden, both of the Mississauga-Etobicoke area, face numerous charges including robbery using a firearm, disguise with intent, flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
Aden was granted $30,000 bail earlier this month.
OPP pursued the suspects to London where a taxi was hit by a police vehicle, critically injuring two fares in the cab, a 27-year-old woman and her nine-year-old daughter. The woman is currently in fair condition in London hospital while her daughter is still listed as critical.
Ali was out on bail at the time for over a dozen robbery-related offences in the Toronto area in 2017.
