A Toronto Raptors broadcaster will help Lambton College host the 2020 OCAA Men's Basketball Championship.
Leo Rautins is the Honourary Chair of the tournament, the school announced Tuesday.
The 59-year-old Toronto native has been in broadcasting for over 30 years and has covered the Raptors for TSN since their inaugural campaign during the 1995-1996 season.
Rautins was the key speaker at the opening of the Lambton College Athletics & Fitness Complex in October last fall.
He said it's an honour to team up with the school for a second time.
“I can attest that this beautiful facility is very well positioned to host this event and offer athletes, coaches and fans an experience they will not soon forget," said Rautins.
Lambton Head Coach James Grant said Rautins had a big impact on his players back in the fall.
“Leo took time out of his busy schedule to sit down with our varsity basketball teams, sharing stories from one of the most storied basketball careers in Canada," said Grant. "This was definitely a once in a lifetime experience that our players will not soon forget.”
Rautins said he hopes to attend the championship tournament in Sarnia if his NBA broadcast schedule permits it.
Lambton College will welcome seven teams to town for the event next March.
