Lambton College to host OCAA Men's Basketball Championship

Lambton College's new state-of-the-art athletics centre will be home to the 2020 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Men's Basketball Championship.

The college will welcome seven teams to town for the tournament next March.

Head Coach James Grant said it's a huge honour for the school.

"It almost makes you speechless to think about hosting such a big tournament," said Grant. "We've never really hosted anything of this magnitude before at Lambton. We have that nice new facility and have had a pretty competitive team over the past five years. Getting a berth all of the way to the provincial quarterfinals is a pretty good feeling, too."

Grant said he expects to have a strong team again next season after making the playoffs in 2018.

Many key players are expected to return to the lineup including Deiondre Reid, Kardon Edwards, and Jaone Walters.

He says the team will be even stronger than last year, with a number of high-level recruits in the mix.
