OLG issues final gaming revenue payments of 2022

The final months of 2022 didn't generate as much gaming revenue for the Village of Point Edward and City of Sarnia compared to the previous quarter.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) recently issued its third quarter payments, which covered a span from October 1 to December 31, 2022.

The Village of Point Edward received $421,424 for hosting Starlight Casino and the City of Sarnia received $99,712 for hosting Gateway Casinos Sarnia.

To compare, Point Edward received a second quarter payment of $455,597 and Sarnia received $111,727.

OLG payments are dolled out host communities based on a gaming revenue formula.

So far, during OLG’s fiscal year between April 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023, Point Edward has received $1,304,084 and Sarnia has received $323,244.

Since Point Edward's gaming site opened in April 2000, the village has generated a total of $50,020,418; and Sarnia has earned $27,134,896 since Gateway Casinos opened in May 1999.
