Confirmed COVID cases at two more Sarnia-area schools

Two more public schools in Sarnia-Lambton are reporting confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Lambton Public Health said Thursday there's one active case at Bright's Grove Public School which has led to the closure of two classes.

There's also one case confirmed at Sarnia's Northern Collegiate high school, but no classes have been cancelled.

The schools remain open.

The news comes two days after a student tested positive, impacting two classes, at Colonel Cameron Public School in Corunna. A total of 45 people from Colonel Cameron were sent to quarantine.

The board has said it won't be giving further details about cases, citing privacy concerns.

Lambton Public Health said it’s working closely with the schools and is contacting any individuals (students and staff) who may have been in potential contact with the virus. The health unit said if you have not been contacted, you have not been in close contact with a confirmed case.

As of Thursday afternoon, there were no active cases reported across the St. Clair Catholic District School Board.
