Sarnia industrial contractor makes generous pandemic donations

Kel-Gor Limited has made community donations totalling $50,000 in the midst of the pandemic.

The Sarnia industrial contractor on Plank Road announced a $25,000 gift Wednesday for the newly formed Bluewater Health Foundation COVID-19 fund.

Foundation Executive Director Kathy Alexander said it speaks to the generosity of our community.

"We were just thrilled with Kel-Gor Limited's incredible and generous support of Bluewater Health and their frontline workers and the importance of making a gift that would strengthen and thank local healthcare providers at Bluewater Health," said Alexander. "It was just a tremendous call to receive. Kel-Gor has been such a wonderful partner to Bluewater Health and so many great causes in our community and we're just so thankful to them."

Kel-Gor also presented a cheque for $25,000 recently to Sarnia's Inn of the Good Shepherd.

The Inn said the funds will allow for the purchase of food for pre-packaged hampers and children's snack packs.

The Inn has cancelled several fundraisers and food drives due to the pandemic, resulting in a loss of up to $250,000 in food and money.

In a news release Wednesday, Kel-Gor Co-Owner Matt Gordon said the gifts are made possible by the hard-working men and women at the company.

He said during this unprecedented time, it was imperative that they make a gift that supports and stays local.
