Pathways hires new executive director from within

A familiar face at Pathways Health Centre for Children has been promoted to lead the organization.

The board of directors has announced that Alison Morrison has been selected to assume the executive director position in September.

Morrison said she's been with Pathways since 1998.

"I started at Pathways as a speech language pathologist 21 years ago, and over my time at Pathways I've had the opportunity to move through a number of different roles with increasing responsibilities and leadership and I'm so honoured to be called by the board to this new position in the organization," said Morrison.

She will spend the next two months shadowing Jenny Greensmith, who announced plans to retire in April.

Morrison is currently the manager of clinical services and said she isn't planning any drastic changes.

"I don't take the calling lightly," she said. "Pathways has important work to do with families with children and youth with physical, developmental and communication needs. As this transition happens I don't anticipate sweeping changes. Jenny and the board have well guided this organization and so our work will continue to be innovative and responsive to needs in our community."

Morrison has a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is a registered nurse and speech-language pathologist.

In her spare time, she's a coach for Bluewater Cheer Athletics and an active member of Grace United Church.
