Two more COVID-19 cases reported at Lambeth Public

Positive coronavirus cases have returned to a local elementary school.

The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) identified two new cases at Lambeth Public School in London on Wednesday. However, the board says this pair of cases is not related to the positive case identified at Lambeth Public two weeks ago.

As was the case for other recently reported cases, Lambeth Public will be open for classes as usual Thursday, and bus service will run as scheduled.

"MLHU is currently investigating the cases and is in the process of identifying close contacts and following up directly to provide specific testing advice," read a statement from the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) Wednesday evening. "If you are not contacted by the health unit, your child is not considered to be at risk. The health unit will only contact those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact, and will advise them to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 14 days."

This marks six total cases that were reported within the past week at the TVDSB. One case was found Tuesday at Wilson Grove Public School in London, and on Monday, Northbrae Public School. Two more were discovered at schools in London and Tillsonburg late last week.
