London police are asking for the public's help identifying the parents of a newborn baby found dead in a dumpster downtown.
Police say they are concerned for the mother's health and well-being, noting that without proper medical care the mother could be in significant pain, bleeding internally, and at risk of serious infection.
The appeal comes one day after the tiny body was found in a garbage dumpster in the area of Richmond St. and Mill St. An autopsy was scheduled to be performed on Friday.
Police have not said whether the baby was a boy or a girl.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
