Justice Slowly Making Improvements

Justice the dog is one step closer to being adoption-ready following a positive cardiology appointment and successful neuter surgery.

"He got lots of TLC and came through the surgery like a trooper," the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society said on Facebook.

The shelter has been posting updates on social media about the dog's progress since he was found bound with electrical tape and left to die in south Windsor back in December.

They say his heartworm infection is less severe than previously thought, which likely hasn't caused very much damage to his heart and treatment should prevent future harm.

Justice is a six-year-old Patterdale terrier who has already undergone three surgeries to remove damaged tissue around his mouth and jaw.

It's unknown when Justice will be put up for adoption and applications are not being accepted at this time.

Michael Earl Hill has been charged with willfully causing unnecessary pain and suffering or injury to an animal. Hill was recently denied bail and remains in jail until his next court appearance.
