Protesters Ecstatic Bail Denied

Organizers of the 'Justice for Justice' campaign are thrilled accused dog abuser Michael Earl Hill has been denied bail.

Protesters rallied the court house for four days waiting to hear the decision from the court.

"If anyone has gone through an experience like I did, finding a pup all bound up like that it's just something that you don't want to come across. So it's just something that we need to have justice for these voiceless animals," says Dean Cresswell, who was out for a walk with his dogs in December when he rescued Justice.

Cresswell is hopeful this sends a message to other possible offenders.

"Hopefully we achieve our goal and try to get stiffer laws here in Canada and deter other people from doing this. Hopefully this is going to set an example to anybody else that even tries to attempt this and deters anyone else from this kind of an act," says Cresswell.

Hill is charged with willfully causing unnecessary pain and suffering or injury to an animal.

He will be back in court on January 25.
