Local Hockey Briefs for December 2

The Sarnia Sting host Saginaw Friday night at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

It's the first of three meetings between the Sting and Spirit this month. Former Sting Assistant Coach Chris Lazary will be behind Saginaw's bench. He took a job as Associate Coach with the Spirit in the off season after two seasons with the Sting.

Sarnia hosts Niagara Sunday afternoon for the 19th Annual Teddy Bear Toss.

The Sarnia Legionnaires lost 5-2 to Chatham last night, dropping their third straight game.

The Legionnaires are off until next Tuesday when they host Leamington. Last night, Leamington beat St Thomas 4-1

Lambton Shores hosts Chatham Saturday night. The Preds traded leading scorer Ethan Sarfati to the Maroons earlier in the week.

A pair of third period goals was the difference as Petrolia fell to Wheatley 5-3 in PJHL action Thursday night.

Mooretown hosts Essex tonight.

The Lambton Jr Sting Major Bantams tied Sun County 3-3 Thursday night.

The Minor Bantams are at a weekend tournament in Hamilton. It's all-star weekend for the Major and Minor Midgets as well as the Major Bantams.

The Petrolia Squires are on the road for a pair of games this weekend.

They're in Clinton tonight, and travel to Tillsonburg tomorrow night.
