Point Edward Receives Gaming Payment From OLG

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has issued fourth-quarter non-tax gaming revenue payments to communities hosting casinos across the province.

Point Edward is getting just over $542,000 for the period from January to March of this year.

Since the waterfront casino opened in 2000, the village has received over $42.8-million in non-tax gaming revenue.

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited took over operations of the facility from the OLG in May of 2017.

The new Starlight Casino will feature an enhanced gaming floor with more tables and slot machines, and new dining and culinary options when the entire project is complete later this year.

The company is spending $26-million to renovate the site which should be complete by late Spring.
