A 29-year-old man, seriously injured in a hit-and-run over a week ago, has been released from hospital and is recovering at home.
Sarnia police say he was struck by a vehicle while walking westbound on Lakeshore Rd. just west of Blackwell Side Rd. on March 18 around 1:30am.
The man was originally taken to Bluewater Health and then transferred to London Health Sciences Centre.
Well-known local weightlifter Boady Santavy is charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with failing to remain at the scene.
The 20-year-old turned himself into police the following day and was released on a promise to appear.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Sarnia police.
