Stormy Weather Blowing Into SW Ontario

Wind, rain, and snow are all in the forecast for the next 24 hours in southwestern Ontario.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement calling for "significant rainfall" during the day Tuesday and overnight, which will be blown away by strong winds early Wednesday morning.

Forecasters say the storm system could drop anywhere between 15-30 mm of rain on the region as a Colorado low-pressure system moves across Lake Huron.

That same system is expected to blast the area with strong winds out of the southwest that could include gusts of up to 85 km/h early Wednesday morning. Those gusts could also cause some isolated power outages.

The wind and the rain will be followed by a cold front that is moving in on Wednesday, which could see rain change to wet snow and flurries by the end of the week.
