Foudy, Knights Beat Erie 5-4 in Overtime

Liam Foudy scored twice, including the overtime winner, in the London Knights' 5-4 overtime win over the Erie Otters.

The victory in Erie Saturday night is the fifth win in the last six games for London, who now have 66 points in the OHL Western Conference.

The Otters scored twice within the first six minutes of the contest. Chad Yetman opened the scoring at 4:33, and Patrick Fellows doubled the Erie lead 57 seconds later.

Foudy cut the Erie lead in half when he scored on the power play at 7:51 in the second period. The Otters got it back, however, just 45 seconds later on a score from Troy Lajeunesse to extend their lead to 3-1. The Knights tied the game before the second intermission with goals from Shane Collins and Dalton Duhart.

Lajeunesse scored his second goal of the game on the power play at 26 seconds into the third period to put Erie back into the lead 4-3. Andrew Perrott's goal late in the final frame for the Knights forced the game into overtime. Foudy's winner was scored at 3:18 in the extra period.

Jordan Kooy took the win in goal for the Knights, stopped 31 shots. Daniel Murphy had 28 saves in net for the Otters.

The Knights host the rival Windsor Spitfires in a Family Day matinee Monday.
