Linkin Park Singer Dead At 41

Chester Bennington, the lead singer of the band Linkin Park, has been found dead after an apparent suicide, according to CNN.

The 41-year-old's body was discovered on Thursday just before 9am, at a private home in L.A. County.  Authorities have said they were treating the case as a possible suicide.

The singer leaves behind six children from two relationships.

Bennington had spoken openly in the past about his struggle with drug abuse, and also being sexually abused as a child.

The singer first gained prominence as a vocalist in 2000, following the release of Linkin Park's debut album, Hybrid Theory.

The band's follow up album "Meteora" was one of the biggest alternative albums in music history.  The group also enjoyed success with the 2004 mashup song "Numb/Encore," which won an award for best rap/sung collaboration at the 2006 Grammy Awards.
