Harper To Campaign In London

Federal Conservative Leader Stephen Harper is set to make an appearance in London as he campaigns for re-election as Prime Minister.

Harper will meet with Conservative Party members at OTC Group on Castleton Rd. at 6:15pm.

The rally is being held in the riding of Elgin-Middlesex-London. Conservative MP for the riding, Joe Preston, announced last year that he would be retiring.

Karen Vecchio is now running for the Conservatives.

Members of her campaign team tell BlackburnNews.com party members were sent online invitations to tonight's rally and had to reserve a spot.

Harpers visit comes on the heels of Federal Liberal Leader Justin Trudea's visit last week, where he fielded questions from reporters about rapid transit and General Dynamics Land Systems' Saudi Arabia contract.

The federal election is less than one week away. Canadians head to the polls on October 19.
