With a day full day of events, Positivity Day has been deemed a success in Chatham-Kent.
Councillor Darrin Canniff kicked things off with a tour of Chatham-Kent Tuesday morning, joined by Captain Positive and Opti Woman.
Canniff says he's happy with how the events unfolded.
"Chatham-Kent stepped up to all new levels as far as positive thinking," says Canniff. "We touched base with over 10,000 people directly on the tour through schools [and] businesses."
One of the stops was at Victor Lauriston Public School, where a very energetic game of softball took place.
CK fire, EMS, and police joined together as one team to take on the students.
There were a lot of smiles, a lot of good hits and even a little bit of dancing happening on the field.

Not too far from the school, over at CK OPP headquarters, they held a spare change and canned food drive. At the end of the event they raised $864.76 and three grocery carts full of food to donate to CK Outreach For Hunger.
Another initiative took place, where instead of money and canned food they collected coats. Coats for Coffee went underway Tuesday at the United Way in Chatham.
Coordinator Mary Symons says about 45 coats were donated. However, they will still be receiving coat donations until November 30 as part of Operation Cover-up.
The positivity day tour wrapped up at the Capitol Theatre where Dr. Lalit Chawla gave a free presentation on the benefits of positive thinking.

Canniff says although positivity day in has been a huge success, he doesn't want to see the positive momentum die down.
"We want to see positive movement throughout the year until we have year two of positivity day," says Canniff.
Canniff says, as long as he has something to do with it there will be a celebration next year.
