Spreading Positivity Across Chatham-Kent

Positivity Day in CK is upon us and there is no shortage of ways to participate.

Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service and the CK Fire and Emergency Services are teaming up to participate in a softball game against the grade 8 class at Victor Lauriston Public School on Alexandra Ave. in Chatham. That game will start at 1pm with the entire school joining in to watch.

Police and fire officials say they're participating because "a friendly game of softball is a great way to be active, have fun and most importantly show our positive spirits."

Another local police service is getting in on the action, too.

Chatham-Kent OPP will be joining a number of local businesses and organizations -- including Lenovers Quality Meats, the Rotary Club of Chatham, and Tim Hortons -- to host a donation drop off and community BBQ to support the Chatham-Kent Outreach For Hunger program.

The drop off will take place from 10am - 2pm at the Chatham-Kent OPP detachment parking lot on Park Ave. E. in Chatham.

Local roofing company Enviroshake say they'll be donating $1,000 worth of food bags for those in need to the Outreach For Hunger program.

If you need to make stop at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, you're also in luck.

The CKHA is spreading positivity by offering complimentary parking to patients and visitors from 9am to 4pm Tuesday. Staff and volunteers will also be handing out treats that were donated by Nutrition Services.

The Chatham-Kent United Way and the Salvation Army are using Positivity Day to kick off their Operation Cover-up campaign.

Dozens of other local businesses will be participating. You can find out which ones are taking part by clicking here.

Positivity Day in CK will wrap up with a free community event featuring Dr. Lalit Chawla at the Chatham Capitol Theatre.

Dr. Chawla will be making a presentation called "How Positivity Creates Greater Health, Relationships, and Abundance." The doors open at 5:30pm, with the program starting at 6pm.
