Spitfires fall 7-4 to Sting

The Windsor Spitfires suffered a 7-4 defeat against the Sarnia Sting on Saturday.

Sarnia was the first team on the board scoring two goals early into the first period. Cole Purboo scored Windsor its first goal edging behind the Sting. 2-1.

The Spitfires sprung to action tying things up 5:24 into the second period. Chris Playfair grabbed Windsor's next goal. Sarnia added another goal towards the end of the second frame during a power play.

Heading into the third period, The Sting scored two more goals taking a 5-2 advantage on the Spitfires.

Wyatt Johnston and Egor Afanasyev edged up on the Sting once again with two more goals, but it wasn't enough for the Spitfires. Sarnia responded with another two goals at the tail end of the third frame for the win.

Windsor will be away against the Peterborough Petes on Thursday Feb.13
