Spitfires trade prospect for 2023 pick

The Windsor Spitfires have made yet another move, trading a centreman to the Niagara IceDogs.

The team announced Friday they have traded prospect Christian Stevens, to the IceDogs in exchange for a conditional 15th round draft pick in 2023.

Stevens, 17, was originally drafted by the Spitfires in the sixth round of the 2018 Ontario Hockey League's priority selection.

Stevens, from Brooklin, Ontario, played with the Whitby Fury of the Ontario Junior Hockey League last season, netting 17 goals in 48 games.

This trade is the latest in a series of moves made by the organization over the past two weeks.

On Wednesday, they traded two future draft picks to the Ottawa 67s for Matthew Maggio – a 5'10, 170-pound winger from Tecumseh.

The Spitfires also signed their first and second-round draft picks from this year's priority selection, and have come to terms with Russian forward Egor Afanasyev. He was acquired by the Spitfires last year in the move that sent goalie Michael DiPietro to the 67s.
