Express Beat Halifax 108-94 in Home Opener

Logan Stutz scored 30 points as the Windsor Express kicked off their home season with a win.

The Express improved to 2-0 following their 108-94 victory over the Halifax Hurricanes at the WFCU Centre Saturday night. Windsor joins the Saint John Riptide as the only 2-0 teams in the National Basketball League of Canada.

Braylon Rayson added 24 points for the Express while Devin White sank 17 and led the team in rebounds with 14.

The Express and the Hurricanes kept things close as the game started with Windsor outscoring Halifax 24-23 in the first quarter. The Express pulled away in the second quarter and led 55-41 at halftime. Halifax regained some ground in the third quarter but Windsor continued to find the hoop and pull away in the final minutes for the win.

Antoine Mason and Ta'Quan Zimmerman each led the Hurricanes with 14 points. Theon Reefer added 13. Mason also led in boards with 11 to get a double-double.

Windsor travels to Niagara Sunday afternoon to take on the River Lions.
