Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up - October 15, 2017

Nick Delyzer scored twice for the Blenheim Blades but the Lakeshore Canadiens prevailed 6-4 Sunday at Blenheim Memorial Arena.

The Canadiens maintain first place in the Stobbs Division with 19 points. The Blades are tied for third with 13 points.

Lakeshore scored four unanswered goals in the first frame and spread the wealth at the net. Goal scorers in that period were Lucas Gignac, Dylan Brantley, Kyler Carter and Brandon Ireland.

In the second period the Blades cut the lead in half with back-to-back goals. Delyzer's first goal was first followed by Seth Henderson at 4:15. Lakeshore put another goal up on the power play thanks to Jake Bailey.

Matt Smith added a goal for good measure in the third period. Dede Cato and Delyzer scored two for Blenheim late in the period.

Mitch Topliffe stopped 26 saves out of 30 attempts in goal for the Canadiens. Eric Stewardson knocked aside 29 shots for Blenheim.

The Blades head to Essex Tuesday night to take on the 73s while Lakeshore travels to Dresden on Friday.

Cory Lucier scored two assists for the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals as they skated to a 2-2 tie with the Dresden Kings at the Libro Centre.

Dresden is in a three-way tie for third place in the Stobbs Division with 13 points, while Amherstburg is tied for sixth place with nine points.

Josh Talerico put the Addys on the board first with a goal at 1:02 in the opening period. Will Tetzlaff evened the game for the Kings with a power play goal for a 1-1 score after the first period.

Both teams exchanged a goal again in the middle period. Cory Burns put Amherstburg back in the lead at 35 ticks into the frame, then Dresden equalized once more when Derek Shaw had a power-play goal.

There was no scoring in the third period or the overtime. The Admirals outshot Dresden in the game 30-29.

Ben Larder had 27 saves in net for Amherstburg while Brendan Johnston had 28 for the Kings.

Amherstburg welcomes Essex on October 22.
