Admirals Defeat Blenheim in Junior C 5-2

The Amherstburg Integrity Admirals scored three goals in the second period on their way to a 5-2 victory over the Blenheim Blades at Blenheim Memorial Arena Sunday night.

The game was a pivotal one in the tightening race in the PJHL Stobbs Division race.  The two teams tie for third place with 32 points apiece, just three points behind the division leading Essex 73s.

Lucas Bersuk scored the first goal of the game for the Admirals at just 1:51 into the opening period.   Amherstburg would go up 2-0 in the second period when Ryan Alexander lit the lamp at 7:46, but Blenheim would get on the board just 27 seconds later on a goal from Derek Hueni.  The Admirals would get two power-play goals a minute and 39 seconds apart later in the period.  The first came at 13:53 from Jordan Luciw, the other following from Dylan Muzzatti.

Both teams would exchange a goal each late in the third period.  The Admirals' Travis Campbell would extend the lead to 5-1 at 16:31, but 24 seconds later, Blenheim's Nick Delyzer would get the goal back.  Two players from each team would get early showers though.  Delyzer and Blades teammate Bryce Broad were sent off with misconducts for inciting an opponent.  The Admirals' Alexander and Dean Patterson got the same call.

Catalin Morin was the winning goalie for Amherstburg, stopping 24 out of 26 Blenheim shots.  Eric Stewardson was on the losing end for the Blades.

The Admirals have a quick turnaround, stopping in Wheatley Monday night.  The Blades head to Lakeshore Friday night.
