Junior Hockey Wrap Up - October 15, 2016

Nathan Savage scored a hat trick as the LaSalle Vipers defeated the Strathroy Rockets on the road 4-3. It was the Vipers' ninth victory in a row.

Daniel Beaudoin assisted on all four LaSalle goals, the first of which came from Savage at 12:51 in the first.  Just 12 seconds later, Brett Primeau extended the Vipers' lead to 2-0 on a goal with assists from both Beaudoin and Savage.

Strathroy would come back in the second period and take the lead with three unanswered goals of their own.  Steve Griggs would get the Rockets on the board first, followed by an unassisted goal from Lucas Latina to tie it up.  Then Max Ewart would give Strathroy the lead at 8:16 in the second stanza.

Savage would tie the game up in the third with his second goal of the night, at 3:08 in.  He also got the overtime winner just 39 seconds into the last period to complete the hat trick.

The Vipers' Ryan Sarris and the Rockets' T.J. Harris each received game misconducts at different times in the game for checking from behind.  Eli Billing got the win in goal for LaSalle, who next host St. Thomas Wednesday night.  Strathroy has a date with the Maroons in Chatham Sunday night.

Joe DeSena scored the go-ahead goal in the third period in the Mooretown Flags' 2-1 win over the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals at home.

There was no scoring in the first period, though Travis Campbell of the Admirals picked up a boarding misconduct.  The Flags cracked the scoreboard at 17:31 into the second period on a Ryan Lyle goal.  Amherstburg would tie it up in the third period with a Dylan Muzzatti goal.  Just over two minutes later, at 5:37, DeSena's goal would seal the win for Mooretown.

Dean Patterson of the Admirals earned a misconduct of his own in the third period on a head contact penalty.  Nolan Hakr got the win in goal for Mooretown, Catalin Morin stopped 25 shots but got the loss for Amherstburg.

The Admirals welcome the Dresden Kings to the Libro Centre Sunday night, while Mooretown is off till Wednesday, when they host the Lakeshore Canadiens.

The London Nationals scored three straight goals in the second period and five straight overall on their way to a 6-3 win over the Lambton Shores Predators.

Ryan Brown got things started for the Nationals with a goal at 6:53 into the first period.  Lambton Shores would then score twice in the period, with Max Griffioen tying the game on a power-play goal and Marcel Berube giving London the lead.

The Predators would score again in the second period with Berube's second goal of the night, but the Nationals would take over and not let up their assault on the Predators net.  Quinn Lenihan and Max Vinogradov would each score on a five-on-three power play 18 seconds apart, and Adam Sinclair made the score 4-3 after 40 minutes with an even-strength goal of his own.

The Nationals added two goals in the third period from Colin Wilson and Michael Andlauer.   Trenton McGrail was the winner in goal for London, stopping 26 of 29 Predator shots.

London hosts the Leamington Flyers Wednesday night while Lambton Shores welcomes Strathroy on Tuesday.
