Five players recently drafted by the Windsor Spitfires have been selected to play in the OHL Gold Cup tournament.

Gabriel Vilardi, Mike DiPietro, Kyle Auger, Thomas Stevenson and Devlin Shanahan will be under the microscope of Hockey Canada scouts during the 20-game tournament in Kitchener May 7-10.

The tournament will see 160 players who were born in 1999. 125 of those players were chosen in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection, including Vilardi who was a first round pick, No. 2 overall.

The top players from this tournament are invited to Hockey Canada’s Under-17 national camp and compete to be on Team Canada during the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
