The Essex 73's beat Exeter 5-2 to go up 3-0 in the Schmalz Cup quarter-finals.
Exeter jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period, but Essex fought back scoring five goals to put the game out of reach for the Hawks.
Phil Janikowski led the 73's with a goal and an assist.
Essex can close out the series with a win Tuesday night in Exeter.
