Crucial Games For Spitfires

Despite collecting just one point in their last five games, the Windsor Spitfires still hold the key to a playoff berth.

Tonight, they host the Guelph Storm -- a team that Assistant Coach Jerrod Smith says likes to play a run-and-gun style, which is something the Spits can't afford to get caught in. "Every game is huge," explains Smith. "We have a Guelph team coming in that we've played pretty hard this year. We've lost a couple close, one-goal games against them. Obviously we have to use our home ice to our advantage."

The Spitfires sit just one point back of Saginaw for eighth place in the OHL's Western Conference with one game in hand over the Spirit.

Puck drop is set for 7 o'clock at the WFCU Centre. Windsor travels to Erie on Saturday, followed by a game in Niagara on Sunday.
