Spitfires Still Control Destiny

Another crucial weekend of games for the Windsor Spitfires gets underway tonight, as they host Sault Ste. Marie.

Having just played the Greyhounds last weekend to a 5-3 loss, Assistant Coach Jerrod Smith says it's important for the Spits to play their best for a full 60 minutes. "I think we've had some success playing 40-50 minutes, hard against them, and then we have a let down for 10 or 12 minutes and they get a couple goals," he explains. "They have a dynamic offence, so it's just about limiting their chances."

Windsor's in a three-way tie with Plymouth and Saginaw for the eighth and final playoff spot in the OHL's Western Conference with a game in hand on both clubs.

The Spitfires will be without the services of star defenceman Trevor Murphy for the weekend, as he serves five games for violating the league's diversity policy. Tonight's puck drop is set for 7pm.
