Vipers Fall To Maroons

The Chatham Maroons were able to fight their way back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the LaSalle Vipers 5-2 on Wednesday.

The Vipers took their two goal lead early in the first period, but it was short lived with the Maroons tying the game 2-2 before the second. Chatham then scored one goal in the second frame and two more in the final 20 minutes to extend their winning streak to nine games.

Vipers defenceman Nathan Veres says when playing a team like the Maroons, it's important to stay focused. "I think maybe we sat back just a bit. Against a team like this that we haven't beat all year, we just can't do that. We need to be working on our game. (We) can't let it slip, even for a second."

The Vipers face off against the St. Thomas Stars on Friday at 7:30pm.
