A Developing Rivalry

The two best teams in the Great Lakes Junior Hockey League square off tonight, as Essex hosts Amherstburg.

Although his team has won 18 of its last 19 games, 73's Head Coach Gil Langlois says this is a chance to see just how good they really are. "I think both teams are going to be pumped for it. There's definitely some rivalry that's developed over the last couple of years," explains Langlois. "I believe it'll be a fast-paced game with an intense, playoff-type atmosphere tonight."

Essex has won its last two meetings with the Admirals after losing 3-2 in overtime in this season's opener. In those games, the 73's have outscored Amherstburg 13-6.

A win tonight would clinch the season series for Essex, as the two teams play just once more in the new year.
