Express Take Game 1

The Windsor Express have drawn first blood in Game 1 of the NBL Canada finals, defeating the Island Storm 122-100.

On Friday night at the WFCU Centre, Windsor took a four point lead after the first quarter and extended that to 13 by halftime. The Storm were ahead in the third quarter 27-26, before the Express sealed their victory with a 37-27 advantage in the final frame.

Windsor’s top scorers were Darren Duncan with 26 points and 11 rebounds, Papa Oppong scored all three pointers for 15 points, and Chris Commons had 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Windsor is set to take on PEI again in Game 2 at 2pm on Sunday, April 6 at the WFCU Centre.
