Lancers Win Queen’s Cup

The Windsor Lancers men’s hockey team have earned their first Queen’s Cup and OUA Banner since 1998, after defeating the McGill Athletics 3-2.

The Lancers started the game off strong, scoring their first goal 18 seconds into the first period. The Athletics remained scoreless for the first two periods with Windsor scoring once in the first and twice in the second. McGill out shot Windsor 52-38 and came close to tying the game, but were unable to get a third goal by the end of the final period.

Evan Stibbard, Mac McDonnell, and Kenny Bradford each scored once for Windsor.

The Lancers now head to Saskatoon for the CIS championships.
