Ride the bus for free to LaSalle Strawberry Festival

LaSalle Transit wants residents to consider taking the bus to this year's Strawberry Festival.

LaSalle Transit 25 will be free for those going to the event starting on Thursday, June 8, until Saturday, June 10. The schedule for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday is available on the Town of LaSalle's website.

The festival is at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex, and the final pickup is a few minutes after the event closes for the night.

A portion of Mike Raymond Drive is closed until Monday, June 12, so all vehicular traffic entering the parking lots at Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex must do so from Laurier Parkway.

Transit also offers a free ride on Friday night to bring people back and forth from the fireworks.

The bus will travel between the Event Centre on Front Road and the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Friday. The shuttle bus will run every 30 minutes.

The fireworks on Friday, June 9, start at 10 p.m. and can be viewed from anywhere on the grounds at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex.

There is a free bike valet close to entrance #1.

Security will check all purses, waist packs, diaper bags, and medical bags at the entry. Bags larger than 14" by 14" by 6" are not allowed.

The festival's last day is Sunday, June 11.
