Golf series for Windsor-Essex first responders sold out

The recent success of golf tournaments for Windsor-Essex first responders has resulted in a series being scheduled.

Buoyed by the response to the series of golf outings that benefitted the Can-Am Police-Fire Games, the tradition will carry on with the Roseland Responder Golf Classic Tournament Series, the first installment of which is on June 16 at Roseland Golf and Curling Club.

The series will consist of four annual tournaments leading up to Roseland's centennial celebration in 2026, or the "Road to 100". The June 16 event is sold out.

The tournament will support three charities chosen by Essex-Windsor EMS.

"Essex-Windsor EMS is honoured to continue to be one of the hosts, this time for the Roseland Responder Golf Classic," said Chief Bruce Krauter. "The legacy of the Can-Am Police-Fire Games is a wonderful opportunity to be shared with our police and fire colleagues. While EMS has chosen CMHA as a charity, all responder charities will benefit from the proceeds of this tournament, and we look forward to teeing up in June."

The fire service has chosen The Windsor Fire Benefit Fund as its charity.

"Windsor Fire and Rescue is proud to be part of the Roseland Responder Golf Classic and very pleased that this event will help three charities in our community, including the Windsor Fire Benefit Fund," said Chief Stephen Laforet.

Windsor police have chosen the Law Enforcement Torch Relay for Special Olympics Ontario.

Rose City Ford will be the presenting sponsor of the series.
