Windsor police make arrest in knifepoint robbery

Investigators say an arrest has been made in a Windsor robbery.

Windsor police say the robbery took place around 10 a.m. on May 18, at a bus stop on Walker Road near Moxlay Avenue. A man approached the victim and asked if he could call a taxi. The victim agreed to help,  but when the victim pulled out his phone, the man pulled a knife, grabbed the device, and ran.

The victim was not physically hurt. Security camera footage was later released of a man matching the description running in the area at the time of the incident.

A 64-year-old Windsor man was arrested on Sunday in the area of Walker Road and Division Road.  He is charged with one count of robbery.

The charge has yet to be proven in court.

Windsor police would like to thank the public for its help in resolving this matter, as the suspect was identified through tips.
