Amherstburg brings back Open Air Weekends

The Town of Amherstburg is bringing back Open Air Weekends starting this coming weekend.

Starting Friday, the event begins with a parade of bagpipers through the streets of Downtown Amherstburg. There's live music at the gazebo in Kings' Navy Yard Park at 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, and yoga in the park each Sunday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Restaurants will be open if you want to enjoy dinner in the Take-Out Court in the King's Navy Yard Park square near the fountain, and businesses will showcase their inventory of crafts, home decor, clothing, jewellery, and books.

The Amherstburg Night Market is scheduled every third Friday of the month from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., with live music in the evening.

Bring the kids for Play Amherstburg on Sunday, June 11, July 16, and August 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"Open Air Weekends continues to gain popularity year after year," said Mayor Michael Prue. "Open Air Weekends has become a place where our community and visitors can connect, enjoy local businesses and spend quality time with family and friends."

Open Air Weekends is every weekend in Amherstburg until Labour Day.
