Suspect sought for arson following Windsor fire

Windsor police are looking for help finding a man suspected in a fire Thursday night near Caesars Windsor.

Windsor Fire and Rescue was called shortly before 4:30 p.m. to Glengarry Avenue near University Avenue East. The fire, which was confined to a single unit in an apartment building, was extinguished within the hour. No one was in the apartment, and there were no injuries.

Investigators remained on the scene well into the night and determined the fire was set on purpose. Police have identified the suspect as 20-year-old Isiah Stephens-Scott, who is now wanted on a charge of arson with disregard for human life.

He is described as a Black male with a light complexion, approximately 6’, 180 pounds, with a slender build and curly, long hair. At the time of the incident, he wore a blue bucket hat, glasses, a blue button-down short-sleeved shirt, a white T-shirt, grey shorts, and Air Jordan flip-flops.

Anyone with information on Stephens-Scott's whereabouts or on the fire itself should call Windsor police's Arson Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4330. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477) to be eligible for a cash reward.
