Downtown Windsor Farmers' Market opening early

The Downtown Windsor Farmers' Market is opening a month early this year.

Starting Saturday, April 1, 70 full and part-time vendors will be set up along Pelissier Street between Wyandotte Street and Park Street.

"That's no April Fools, that's one month earlier than last year and that is driven by demand. We have always been asked to open as soon as we can, everyone misses the Downtown Windsor Farmers' Market," said Steve Green, general manager of the Downtown Windsor Farmers' Market.

Green indicated there are many new and returning vendors.

"We always have a changing selection down at the farmers' market, it's never the same twice," said Green.

The market is also shifting its hours this year.

"We were finding that at 1 p.m. when we were trying to close down that the roads were still full. So we've changed our hours from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.," said Green

The market will be open every Saturday, rain or shine, until October 28, 2024.
