Ford issues global recall for Fusion and Lincoln MKZ

There is a recall for 1.2-million Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans because of a design flaw that could cause a crash.

The company said the recall is for model years 2013 to 2018.

The front brake hose could rupture, causing a brake fluid leak. Drivers may notice their brake fluid warning light is on. It could also change how the brake pedal feels and take longer for the vehicle to stop.

The company said it didn't test the design adequately.

Ford is aware of one crash.

Owners can call Ford at 866-436-7332.

They should take their vehicle to their dealership, which will replace the faulty brake hoses free of charge.

Ford will contact owners by mail starting April 17.
