Tecumseh breaks ground on Lacasse Park grandstand

Construction on a new grandstand at Lacasse Park in Tecumseh starts on Monday, so the community can enjoy improved amenities as they watch a baseball game.

In addition to a new grandstand with greater seating capacity, the new facility will boast a training room, team locker rooms, washrooms, and concessions.

Tecumseh town council approved the project last April, and construction should wrap up early next year.

"Tecumseh will continue to be a baseball destination while allowing us to showcase the beauty of our community and its environment to people from across the province and beyond," declared Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara.

During construction, the baseball playing field will stay open, although there will be minor changes to the pathway to ensure public safety.

Sfera Architectural Associates Inc. designed the new grandstand, and Gulf Development Inc. is building it.
