EDM artist James Hype headlines FrostFest concert

"As we bring students back to the campus and introduce students to the campus, I can't imagine a better way to kick off the Winter semester," said Alanna Olteanu, president of the University of Windsor Students' Alliance, announcing the headliner for this year's Frostfest concert.

This year, world-renowned EDM artist James Hype will live up to his name on February 5.

For those not entirely familiar with the artist, Hype is known for his newest remix, "Ferrari," and other songs like "Disconnected," featuring Tita Lau, and his follow-up "Good Luck," featuring Pia Mia.

He'll be joined on the billet by local talent from across Windsor-Essex. University of Windsor alumni DJ Josh Karmin and DJ Kirzy will take the stage before Hype.

The University of Windsor Students' Alliance kicks off the winter semester each year, attracting thousands of fans with its goal of uniting local youth.

"In the past, we have been able to bring in a variety of artists, such as Rich the Kid, Avicii, Fetty Wap, and Canadian duo Loud Luxury," added Olteanu.

Hype is one of the top artists in the United Kingdom, with almost half a billion streams to his credit. He was recognized as the top artist worldwide in 2022 while holding the number-one song on BeatPort.

Frostfest is open to those 16 and up at the Toldo Lancer Centre Fieldhouse. Tickets can be bought online for $35 and the doors open on February 5 at 8 p.m.
