Ontario Provincial Police were busy in Windsor-Essex on the weekend, charging three drivers with stunt driving.
The first one was stopped at around 11:15 p.m. Saturday in Kingsville. An OPP officer clocked the driver at 145 kilometres per hour in a 60 km/h on County Road 20 near Kratz Sideroad. The 17-year-old from Kingsville was cited for stunt driving.
The second traffic stop took place shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sunday in Tecumseh. The 40-year-old Leamington resident was traveling at 165 km/h on Highway 3 near Sexton Sideroad. In addition to stunt driving, the man was also charged with driving with cannabis in the vehicle, and having cannabis in opened, original packaging.
The third stop was in Kingsville just before 4 a.m. Sunday. An OPP officer clocked the vehicle going 147 km/h in an 80km/h on Graham Sideroad. The 35-year-old driver from Kingsville was cited for stunt driving.
All three drivers had their vehicles impounded for 14 days, and their licences were suspended for 30 days. Each will have a chance to respond to the charges in a Windsor court.
