Windsor police have closed a section of Concession Road 3 North in Amherstburg after strong winds knocked over several hydro poles.
In a tweet Saturday morning, police said Concession Road 3 North between County Road 10 and Texas Road in Amherstburg will be temporarily closed due to downed hydro poles.
3rd Concession N will be temporarily closed between County Rd 10 & Texas Road due to hydro poles down caused by the wind. Please avoid area. #YQG #Amherstburg -18825

Environment Canada issued a wind warning for Windsor-Essex on Friday after westerly winds of up to 90 km/h were expected in the wake of a strong cold front.
The winds are expected to taper off early Saturday evening.
Hydro One is currently on scene and is assisting crews in regard to the downed hydro poles
Police are asking the public to avoid the area in the meantime.
At 4:28 p.m., Hydro One team members were still on scene and the road remained closed.
