The Greater Essex County District School Board of Trustees has elected its chair and vice-chair for the upcoming year.
Trustee Gale Simko-Hatfield, who has served nine previous terms, was acclaimed to the chair's position, while Trustee Cathy Cooke returns for a third consecutive year as vice-chair.
"It is reassuring to know that my experience and dedication are valued, and I pledge to fulfil the responsibility as Chair to the best of my ability," said Simko-Hatfield.
Trustee Connie Buckler, who represents Tecumseh and Lakeshore, was acclaimed as Chair of the board's Education Committee, and Trustee Ron LeClair, representing LaSalle and Amherstburg, is the Chair of the Operations and Finance Committee.
The Board of Trustees holds its first full public meeting on Tuesday, December 6.
The Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board meets next Tuesday to elect its Board of Trustee Chair and Vice-Chair and holds its first full public meeting on November 29.
