Kingsville has a new mayor for the first time in 19 years, while Leamington retains its incumbent.
Businessman Dennis Rogers, 42, is the new mayor-elect of Kingsville, succeeding longtime mayor Nelson Santos, who resigned earlier this summer to take an administrative job in another municipality.
Rogers won 3,182 votes, narrowly defeated lawyer and former councillor and deputy mayor Tamara Stomp who had 3,036, and current councillor Laura Lucier who ended the night with 2,161.
There is also a new deputy mayor in Kingsville, as councillor Kimberly De Yong defeated longtime incumbent Gord Queen. She had 4,629 votes compared to Queen's 3,130.
Lucier's campaign and DeYong's promotion resulted in two open seats on council, which will be filled by newcomers Debby Jarvis-Chausse and Sheri Lowrie. The remaining three seats will be occupied by incumbents Tony Gaffan, Thomas Neufeld, and Larry Patterson.
In Leamington, Hilda MacDonald easily won a second four-year term as mayor with 4,333 ballots in her favour, beating challengers Jimmy Simoni with 3,004, and Cris Biron with 754 votes.

Larry Verbeke will also be back as Deputy Mayor. With 3,229 votes, he defeated Shelly Quick who had 2,330 and John Tofflemire with 2,305.
There will be one new face on Leamington Council as Anthony Abraham is elected to the seat vacated by John Hammond. The remaining incumbents, Bill Dunn, Heather Latam, Paul Tiessen, and Tim Wilkinson, have been retained.
Also Monday night, voters on Pelee Island elected Cathy Miller as Mayor. Dayne Malloch is the Deputy Mayor. Council will be made up of David Delellis, Sherri Smith Ouellette, and Stephanie Briggs-Crawford.
