Six Windsor properties honoured with annual heritage awards

Six different properties were recognized for work to preserve Windsor's vintage buildings on Thursday.

Ward 5 Councillor Ed Sleiman represented the City by presenting the 2022 Built Heritage Awards to five Windsor properties, as well as a heritage designation plaque to one property that recently received a heritage classification.

The Niels V. Ortved House, on Devonshire Road near Cataraqui Street, was presented with the heritage designation plaque.

The five recipients of the Built Heritage Awards are the following.

* 1008 Drouillard Road, City Cyclery.

* 1785 Walker Road, the Teron Building.

* 225 Giles Boulevard West, the William T. Westgate House.

* The Hiram Walker Bridge Restoration on Peche Island

* The Mackenzie Hall Masonry Restoration Project

The awards are being presented in conjunction with Doors Open Windsor, which will take place this weekend.

Complete information on the work that was done on each property can be found in the report, shown on the City's official website.
