Weekend fire traced back to E-bike

Fire officials in Windsor blame a fire on the weekend that damaged three townhomes on an E-bike recharging.

Windsor Fire and Rescue Services reminds the public to use the correct charger when you are charging batteries.

The fire on Grandview Street, just east of Grand Boulevard, is listed as accidental.

When firefighters arrived on Saturday morning, the heat was so intense the windows in one of the units were blown out. Damage is estimated around $750,000.

No one was injured.

Fire officials in Windsor called in investigators from the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal to help investigate the blaze which displaced six people from their homes.
